DAY ONE

Started with toast and coffee

and a long walk down to the river for some fly fishing

THE DOCTOR is a legend at fly fishing

I had no problems catching my dinner

which was served to me later superbly cooked

by chef  MINNIE it was served on a large white plate

with a white  sauce and local

cooked by minnie

herbs

complemented  with the local HAWKES BAY chardonnay

for lunch I had lambs fry bacon and locally grown potatoes covered in a onion gravy it was superb

drinks  was a scotch with diet coke

remember this is health resort and I am on a diet

LATER

I was very brave  saddled up a lovely chestnut horse

and rode it down to the river to see some of the guest frolicking in the rapids of the river after this I became aware that my poor horse had  become distressed

carrying my large frame so we walked back together

with THE DOCTOR now being distressed

WHAT a 3 days I’ve had. IT all started at Trica’s xmas eve with food food and more food THE DOCTOR  ate and ate  no drinks for me I was the driver

no problems though the CEO’S MOTHER AND HER GRAND DAUGHTER HAD MY SHARE

FRIDAY 2am start airport  bus pick up 2hrs on bus to BRISBANE airport

flying JETSTAR to CHRISTCHURCH arrived with a 4 hr stop over  at a lovely bar in airport

a 90 dollar bar tab later we left for NAPIER  were we greeted with more drinks and we were whisked of to the GLEN HILL STATION

The weekend warriors  have gone back to work

CEO’S mother back on computer doing what ever she does

Yesterday Sunday

I hurt my back again, just a simple thing like lifting the baby not a real one

the baby is MILO the cat a feisty 13 year old Siamese rules the house anyway bent down

to pick her up  and then it happens sharp pain in lower back it’s a old injury from a fishing trip with the crow  .

IN THE AFTERNOON

 called in on Trica she lives in the suburbs in a lovely 3 bedroom house it has open living lounge BALI style, overlooking the pool and a sub tropical garden featuring palms and banana tree’s pineapples growing in pots, fountain

and by the back door herbs for the kitchen  on the back patio is a 12seat out door dinning setting  and large weber BBQ. after a few drinks my elderly bladder needs to be emptied on my way to toilet I am surprised to see this room whats this I THOUGHT some sort of dungeon medieval torture chamber for inflicting pain

Are these people kinky or what I THINK

IT TURNS OUT TO BE HOME GYM, MIRROR ,EXERCISE BIKE ,A STAND ON VIBRATOR  god only knows happens on that  but strangest piece is a platform sort of stand were your feet are strapped in and one is suspended upside down

stretches the spine I am told by the MADAM of the house     

believe it or not

it seems it is TRICA’S idea of a fitness regime

Saturday. her office is closed she is suffering withdrawals which means I’m going to get, are you just going to sit there all day. pool needs cleaning and the shower

Queensland Tourism Minister Desley Boyle says she is not concerned by a downturn in the number of Australians visiting the Gold Coast.

Tourism Research Australia figures show Australian visitors to the coast dropped almost 12 per cent between September 2007 and September 2008.

The Minister says the drop is easily explained.

“It’s not concerning and was largely about the weather which was so dreadful at the start of the year,” she said.

“And of course it has in fact given all of the Gold Coast operators a bit of breathing space to get used to the huge influx of international visitors
